DIY Book Display!

We recently renovated our basement and I knew that as part of our playroom, I NEEDED a reading nook.

As a teacher, I know that it's so important to foster of love of reading young, and I wanted to create a space that is accessible for my kids and also cozy and inviting.

I decided I wanted to dedicate a space on the wall to our book display, and I wanted my daughter to feel included i its creation! Thankfully Michaels & Dollarama had just what we needed! We picked up some acrylic paint at Dollarama and I ordered white MDF letters from Michaels. Here's the link to shop!

Creating the signage together was such a fun way to involve my daughter in the process!

Next, I searched Amazon for clear shelving I could mount on the wall. I wanted the shelves to be accessible and not provide a barrier when looking for a story. Buying the shelves in parts instead of a pre-made shelf made it easy to mount them on the wall at the heights that we wanted. Here is a closer look and the link to shop.

The clear shelves make sure all the books on the shelf are visible.

To see the whole transformation and our collection of holiday books, check out this reel! For book companions and activities for some of the stories you'll find on our shelf, check out my TPT store here.
